Period delay treatment allows you to safely postpone your period using prescription medication. It’s a convenient option if your period is due at a time that would be disruptive—like a holiday, sports competition, exam, or big life event.
We offer a quick and discreet service. Our trained pharmacists will review your medical history to check that the treatment is safe for you, and if suitable, provide you with the medication you need.
This service is suitable for:
If you’re already using hormonal contraception (e.g. the pill, patch, or ring), we can advise how to manage your cycle to delay bleeding safely.
If you're not on the pill, the most common treatment we offer is a prescription-only medicine called norethisterone. Taken three times a day, starting three days before your period is due, it can delay your period until you stop taking it.
Periods usually resume 2–3 days after stopping the tablets. The treatment can be used for up to 17–20 days, depending on your situation.
Please note: This medication isn’t suitable for everyone. During your consultation, we’ll check for any medical conditions, medications, or risk factors that could affect suitability.
